While it has been fun to have snow in North Carolina this week (first time it has snowed in a city I live in), I couldn’t be more excited to go back to California. I’m off to Ojai for my older sister’s bachelorette party. I can’t wait for a weekend of laughter, relaxation and too much wine.

Happy Mardi Gras! I love any holiday that involves beautiful colors and lots of merriment. The only problem with Mardi Gras is those darn masks. If you get a pretty beaded mask on a stick you have to hold on to it the whole night (and let’s face it: probably lose it). What is it: The Ine Embossed Wedge from Alexander Wang.
Why we love it: The juxtaposition of the edgy cut out back detail and ladylike pointy toe silhouette is right up my alley. The fact that these babies are embossed with this amazing lizard print is icing on the cake.
Wear it with: A sweet little LBD like this one.
My little sister got me this motorcycle jacket for Christmas. I had been wanting one for some time, but even so once I got it I had trouble styling it. I tried wearing my moto jacket with cute dresses and flowy skirts. Ultimately I’ve discovered that to retain the innate coolness of the motorcycle jacket it’s best to stick to the basics: a t-shirt and destroyed denim. Nothing can beat this tried and true look.
