The gorgeous gardens at the entrance to Villa d’Este.IMG_0815The weather was a lot warmer than we expected so we got to spend time in those pretty lounge chairs and take those boats out for a ride.
2015-04-15 12.42.54I walked into the town of Cernobbio with my parents to go to the farmer’s market. Once we arrived we realized we had been to this market before. So funny how things like that happen.

Lauren & I posing with our hats. I bought a new hat at the gift shop since the one I packed blew off on the boat and sunk to the bottom of the lake.

Walking on cobblestone streets in sandals isn’t that bad – I think it feels like a massage for your feet!

When we asked if we could take a boat out, they immediately assumed we met one with a captain. The gentlemen renting out the boats were very nervous when they saw us driving away, and even more nervous watching us attempt to pull it in!

Luckily there were absolutely no other boats on the lake except for a few ferries and the water was smooth and glassy. We really couldn’t do much damage.2015-04-15 22.24.46

The name of this restaurant, Trattoria Glicine, means “wisteria.” The purple blooms made a canopy over the restaurant’s patio. It was so beautiful that Lauren called it the 8th wonder of the world!
